No 9 needs an Oxford comma and I have no idea what a “BM” is.
Boosted mitochondria?
Bowel Movement!
Google tells me:
The use of the Oxford comma is a matter of style, meaning that some publishing styles stipulate its use while others don’t.
Further confirmation on BM @billybutcher and associated problems
Still in bell bottoms in '78?
Surement pas !
Probably in France.
But. In 78-79 aged 17-18 I deliberately chose to wear flairs and other clothes from an earlier era as a way of publicly rejecting the commercial faeces that was punk. As a teenager culture seems so important, and the whole thing was so utterly ghastly.
Actually, after the initial shock and surviving one of Buzzcock’s first gigs in Dec '76, I found the punk scene in Manchester and at Eric’s in Liverpool very liberating, very high energy, art school stuff.
No more platform soles and flares whose frayed bottoms dragged behind their wearers, soaking up dirty rain water (it was Manchester) . The following year I started teaching on possibly the UK’s first Creative Arts degree (Fine Art, Contemporary Dance, Theatre and Creative Writing) and by then the whole Arts Faculty was already very punky.
Oh so it was your fault
And then there’s those health warning consequences…
And we love you for doing it.
The World Ruler Twanging championship inaugural competition is due to be held next year, somewhere in the Dordogne.
I will probably be too shattered to go.
Maybe you’ll measure up to the task next year.
Give someone an inch…
