Best café / salon du thé / bistro mixed business that you have seen?

This isn’t too far from our little pied a terre. Will look it up if / when all this madness is over. Thanks for the link.

is that the cute coffee shop with lots of cute gifts

trying to remember the coffee at the garden centre near the airport Bergerac
The food was good there at one point.

No, I think you are thinking of Victoria which recently expanded - but their coffee is good too - they have the same supplier as the squirrel café in Monpazier.
My café looks like nothing but they have great coffee and good homemade things to eat as well.

Clement’in - they have a couple of restaurants in Berg and were the owners of the fantastic patisserie Rosier Castagna (now long gone) in the rue de la résistance. Excellent patissier-chocolatier, better than either in the rue ste Catherine.

Having just got a proper coffee machine, making a brilliant cup of coffee requires some ability…very easy to end up with something nasty and sour, or bitter. We had a while of hit and miss coffee, but has been worth it in the end. Do put the research in to your machine and beans if you want to sell exceptional coffee not just drinkable stuff.

We got some Vietnamese beans, so had a week of proper Vietnamese coffee. You could do all sorts of special coffee days/weeks matching coffee to cakes.

Lovely nep rice coconut milk and red bean or banana cake, or pandanus spongecake, mmmmmm to go with Viêt coffee
If it isn’t from a café with a good machine, I like the coffee from my trusty old Bialetti best.
