Coldplay at the World Cup

Yes so did I. I remember seeing them at Guildford Civic Hall and my ears were ringing for ages afterwards - no council bods with decibel meters back then.

I also saw Dire Straits there shortly after “Sultans of Swing” had come out - they upgraded to bigger venues after that!

I’m sure.

Plymouth Guildhall used to have a decibel triggered kill switch. The usual timetable was.

  1. The band arrives on stage.
  2. They start playing.
  3. The power cuts and everything goes dark.
  4. There is a delay of a couple of minutes.
  5. Somebody finds the switch bypass.
  6. The band start again.

As indeed would any true music-lover :stuck_out_tongue:

Steady on sir, or I shall come round and trample on your collection of James Last LPs…

I can definitely foresee a boycott by most Europeans as Russia & North Korea will be made guests of honour at this event !!

Not on the pitch probably as I don;t think their teams are playing - but maybe in the Presidential Box at the final!

It will be interesting to see how it’s all managed as the US is co-hosting with Canada and Mexico! Not exactly best buds at the moment and likely to be even less matey by the time we get to next summer.

Oh even more fun then @ChrisMann - I was not aware this was a shared event with their ex’s !!
I have zero interest in football and take no notice of any games, news or results , however I might be interested to read the fall out on this one.
