That’s the one, I had a look on Google just before I posted, the pic there was from 2008, your link is from 2012, still stoney, some of which still resides beneath my skin since baling out from the back of the milk cart with the horse in full gallop. ![]()
Funny what time does with your memory though. 'Till I looked at that again today, I always thought that the main leg of the ‘L’ was north/south, not east/west. ![]()
A very complicated situation in the UK
You’re not kidding. I haven’t read that but I remember as a child in '48 I thought that it merely meant that the council hadn’t yet got around to finishing it. ![]()
The thicker the grass grows on the chemin which leads to my house the greater my procrastination to mow it. I don’t mind doing it because I feel better mentally and physically afterwards. Mowed it this afternoon, but it’s 2½ times longer than shown in the photo, and I only mow half of it now. There are no other houses along the chemin but mine.
I see the day, due to aches & pains of old age, when I might want someone to do the mowing for me. When/if that day comes could the mairie or other official body help with this sort of thing?
Some while back a public vehicle widened the chemin by cutting back overhanging foliage, so I assume the chemin is public.
Who owns the chemin? If it is owned by the commune then they should take responsibility for maintaining it. You need to ask your marie.
If not, and you own it, then those who are old and in need can get a range of benefits to help them look after themselves and their property.
