If I recall correctly… having a Student Visa only lets you do a certain amount of work… organized around your Schooling… so you won’t be earning that much.
and 10K in the bank will probably not be enough… as funds disappear like snow in summer…(I speak from experience…) 
However… it’s an excellent idea to just “visit” in September.
You’ve a wonderful dream… and it’s well worth taking a little time, checking things out… so your dream stands a good chance of coming-true…
