It’s recommended to grate quince when you are making jam. but I much prefer the odd junks on my toast so never grate them. I like to quarter them to serve with turkey or goose at Christmas, I just put them in the roasting pan with whatever is cooking. I like to add one quince to an apple crumble, really I suppose they are one of our favourite fruits and they can keep well.

They are an acquired taste, I love them but in small pieces. When I was ill my other half made me some tea from the Leaves and bark and it was effective and tasty.
I’m not advocating anyone go off and make concoctions from trees without looking into it.
