Didn’t know that -but assume these contexts are still primarily female. Whereas if encountered in a male context I’d see it as implying being untrustworthy and/or lazy, or homo-erotically effeminate and possibly sub-consciously appealing.
Gosh that’s an interesting set of assumptions: in my mind and from my reading and in conversation sloe-eyed simply means having noticeably dark eyes, and applies as I said to men as well as women and children, without any dodgy subtext.
I suppose anything unusual might be seen as exotic, and fetishized though.

I know a lot of passion can go into producing salad dressings but maybe you are taking it a bit too far
