Tap v Bottle

At least they still use spring water.

For once, public opinion - or possibly anger at being fobbed off with Coca Cola prices for something available at home - defeated the mega corporarton and Coca Cola decided to withdraw Dasani from the UK market.

It was an absolute disaster in the UK market as @JohnA mentions, and was withdrawn from sale - though still seems to be a thing elsewhere in the world.

The parallel with “Peckham Spring” water is especially amusing.

It was actually Sidcup spring, a friend worked at the bottling plant.

So totally agree! Even become the norm in UK for 3* restaurants and up; Pure snob value except for San Pelligrino fizzy water !

Tap
A any time. No need for any mo⁰re plastic pollution.
And I would not buy a Sodastream. Any Israeli company or product is on my NO BUY list.

Is there a list of such Israeli companies anywhere. I believe many are hidden from view to some extent. If I know of one I would avoid it.

Not really. But Sodastream is a Israeli company. I would google companies to find out. In the UK it was easier as most produce had an origin county. Here I avoid buying avocado or citrus from Israel.
I’ll have a look to get a list for you…

What happened to Sparklets soda siphon?
I see several non sodastream options on Amazon.

I would imagine there will be quite a few Chinese knockoffs. Just make sure they are not made in Uighur territory.

We use a Brita filter and a Sodastream here too. In the summer months I fill up my ‘gourde’ so I can track how much I drink each day. In the winter it’s mostly cups of tea instead.

I see the latest craze is to have a Starbucks / Stanley gourde - I definitely didn’t pay this price for my unbranded one at Carrefour!

Vevor being one advertised, I have several tools from Vevor and I am very pleased with them, some are heavy duty and easily up to the job so hopefully that runs through most of the items. Temu on the other hand is at the poor end of things IMO.

Found a Danish company AARKE.
Once I get over the price shocker I will probably go for their Sparkler…

Another Brexit joy is beginning to raise its ugly head. Apparently, quite sensibly, all new products used to treat drinking water need to be tested. Existing treatment products need re-certifying every 5 years. The problem is there are no longer any testing facilities available to do these tests.

Absolutely crazy, what is going wrong in batshit bonkers Britain? They want control over minor stuff but the majors like water and water treatment they prefer a complete lack of responsibility. Still lets all focus on Greg Wallace and a few dad jokes :upside_down_face:
