Tattooing - love it or hate it - and Thoughts about a Blog

Mandy, I went in to the store with a definite plan of what I wanted, a ladybird on my big toe!!! I was told though, ‘sorry, we’re not allowed to do digits’ so I opted for a cat instead on my lower back, not much difference!! Go for it Mandy, I found it a very liberating experience!

I will. Just need to think seriously about the design.

I was thinking of our initials entwined but they are M and S so I don’t want it to look like I’m celebrating either Marks & Sparks or sadomasochism!!

Will get my thinking cap on.

I don’t have any tattoos myself. The nicest one I ever saw was 3 years ago in Corfu. A Brit on holiday had the outline of a black cat on the back of her neck.
Discreet, precise and very well done.

I saw a young woman in a supermarket in Menorca, with faces of her 5 kids tattooed just below her neck…photos must be so much easier, & less painful, I imagine.

In my Tattoo ‘shop’ - there was a woman of established years having washing instructions put on the back of her neck - fabulous!!

A friend of mine mused that she would like her children’s names tattooed on her chest.
Unless she thinks she may get dementia I can’t see the point.

It’s not a mid-life crisis…it’s exciting and can be quite addictive once you know what it feels like…x

What a lovely idea Mandy…there’s lots of ways a tattooist could do that…

I have the initials of my three kids on my upper back…astrologicaly we are Earth Air and Water so I wanted the design to incorporate those 3 elements…x

Here’s a (really bad) photo that I just took of my shoulders…x

This was done 23 years ago…

I had my one and only tattoo done was I was 15 and hadn’t stopped growing, it is now a bit distorted but as it’s out of sight unless I strip off it doesn’t really bother me. I’ve advised the kids not to have any but the eldest two have, daughter number one may have a model’s figure but her body has now been defaced by a tattoo on the back of her thigh which just looks so out of place, son number one has ‘Made in England’ on his wrist.

As I have one it would be hypocritical to say ‘I hate them’ but when I see young bodies covered in tats I inwardly tut.

Do you think that after Linda’s great weekend she might go for a Rocket Man or a Yellow Brick Road, discreetly tucked away of course ? :hugs:

Oh wow, that looks amazing. Yes I see an s in the body of the cat and an m in the ears and, of course, it looks a bit like my boy Denzel. I think it may be just about perfect.

Thank you Ann xxx :hugs:

It’s simple and yet so elegant, within a few lines it has form and of course your initials, it leapt off the page at me … you can’t see it here but the interior of the eye is green. xxx
