That political discussion with occasional humour thread

I’ve always thought that many early settlers in America were not well educated hence the odd spellings and strange words. Burglarized is a classic

I worked for a UK truck manufacturer and “truck” was the word used for anything bigger than 30 cwt. GVW. The term now in use is Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) instead Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) for anything above 3500 kg MAM

Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa, also refer to trucks not lorries.

As I said, an original English word that left, and came back again.

That’s the way to do it. No confusion.

I dont find that funny AM, making full use of said pass means only using the car maybe once a fourtnight so great for the environment. Sadly seeing Keir making a dogs breakfast of his early weeks I wouldnt put anything out of his reach but to what end, increased traffic and pollution?

I thought it was funny, in a dark way, and perhaps also because I can’t imagine him doing it, for the reasons you state.

It is darkly amusing, and TBH after the WFP fiasco it wouldn’t be a surprise to many. On one level I see socialism as robbing those identified by the system as being ‘well off’ to give money to those identified as being in need, so this would absolutely fit.

To make it clear, I don’t think this is real, but rather an amusing observation of a possibility.

Yes I hate to admit the dark humour, things seem to get crazier with each passing year.

And then there were three… The worst three, of course.

Surely the blue rinse brigade (Tory members) will pick the nice white boy.

Ah, but does it really matter…?

Not exactly funny, but topical.

This also not exactly humour but shows how silly it is to reference history as a rational for geographical ownership

I’m just wondering, do we give Palestine/Israel back to Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Syria, or Turkey?

Now I know that it is only women who are alleged to vote for the best looking man, but I think that Kamala Harris is one very good looking lady, and I am so pleased that I am not on their voting register, and would have to grit my teeth while voting for the best candidate.
