The weather!

It’s raining gently now.
At least there are not many leaves left to fall after all that wind.

They all appear to be in my pool.

Oops. Desolé.

Yes, I’m still about 12 inside.

Wind has died down in N Vienne (we’ve not lived in a corner house before :scream_cat:).

Whilst I’m adoring this weather and the boost its given me to get out in the garden, I also find it terrifying . In total I’ve lived in France about 20 years, and yes had the odd days here and there in winter that are stunning but this is insane. It was 23 yesterday when I got in the car to collect the small at 4pm.

Will we pay for it in January?

We’ll pay for it for the rest of our lives.

Well we might end up having xmas lunch outside this year if this carries on and I see most of my neighbours still have their transats and other patio furniture out and using.

The days are swapping between foggy/damp to sunny and we still have silken strands wafting in the breeze as the spiders (presumably) are throwing themselves off trees/building and hanging onto their threads until they reach some sort of preferred destination

Watched a Greater Spotted woodpecker having a right go at something (presumably “lunch”) and we seem to have magpies visiting from all parts of the globe.

strange weather, but nature is lovely

That’s a coincidence. I don’t normally see many magpies here at the southern tip of 86 but there have been hundreds over the last week or so.

Gonna be blustery this weekend, folks, as storm Darragh pays us a visit.

Météo France has issued a yellow weather warning, and back in the UK the Met Office has issued a red warning!

Looks like Brittany will get the worst of it :tornado:

Here in Département Surrey, Sud-Angleterre, we are under a yellow warning for wind from this afternoon until 6am on Sunday. I think the red warning is for the westward facing coasts of
Wales.

Here, in France… I’ve had the windows open on the South/West side of the house. Gloriously not-hot/not-cold air is wafting through the house. Fair enough, I’ll be slamming 'em shut in about another half an hour, but it’s been lovely.

(yesterday was perishing, frosty and foggy … my hands were quite painful as I’d forgotten my gloves.)

Yes very rough down here in 66 but very strangely warm outside when I went to take a package in and reading 21°C outside the front door.

The temp dropped quickly here in the last hour or so. Gutted after such s glorious sunny day that it is due to be so crap all weekend. I wanted to mow, garden, cut Christmas decs ect :rage:

Ghastly wind and rain today, so the shutters have stayed shut and we feel entombed :frowning:

Bit of a shock for us. We left from Alicante airport yesterday afternoon about 26 degrees to come back to the edge of Darragh.
