I seem to remember the HoC voting in favour The Withdrawal Agreement Bill by a majority of around 100 MPs.
Doesn’t sound like a dictatorship to me.

Not a dictatorship, no - but a Bill which in no way shape or form resembled the kind of Brexit that people were told was on offer at the time of the Referendum.
For example I remember a certain Michael Gove saying “there is no question of leaving the Single Market or Customs Union” - which of course is precisely what the UK then did. The rest followed from that one giant 180 degree change of direction.
What most people (whether voting Leave or Remain) expected to happen after 2016 was some kind of “Norway or Switzerland deal” where we would no longer take part in EU institutions but would remain in the Single Market with no trade or travel barriers. instead, the Tories pursued the hardest kind of Brexit (and would probably even have settled for no deal, such was the degree of blinkered ideology on display).
As for the majority of 100 MPs, that was because the British people were so sick of hearing about Brexit that they (insanely) gave Boris Johnson a mandate just so the whole thing would be “over and done with”.
Which of course it isn’t, as the ill-effects will linger until (or if) the UK comes to its senses.

Instead of saying that two-thirds of Brits want Harris to win, they’ve gone with 18% want Trump to be President again.
Or there’s about 20% of Brits that want Harris to win and 62% who couldn’t give a monkey’s and/or get their news from TicTok and hence could form an opinion of their own if their lives depended on it.

Perhaps someone phoned up to complain about “lefty liberal BBC bias” because the original Harris photo showed her smiling and the Trump one looked a bit grim.

Yayyy he won! Thank goodness for that!! Who cares whether he has a wide coat or shiny pants. No more wars! Surely that is far more important saving lifes than what he has in his wardrobe. Or maybe I’ve completely missed the point.

I completely agree… my money is there will be no more wars during his term… this time, he has support from Tulsi, RFKjr, Vivek, etc, not these warmongers like Bolton/Pompeo… hope he doesn’t get assassinated before Jan 2025!!!

No doubt China will be happy to hear that as they make plans for bloodless takeover of Taiwan and the Spratly Islands. Ditto Putin’s plan to retake the entire former Soviet Union. God alone knows what North Korea is planning. And, Africa is very far away from the US, so…,

While I agree with your desire for peace, do you think Biden was responsible for the Afghanistan debacle that has destroyed every women’s life there, or the invasion of Ukraine? As for the Middle East, why do think the Israeli rightwing politicians are Horahing (dancing) in the streets? Trump has long said Isreal should “finish the job”, no point in leaving a genocide half done is there?

I agree with you @John_Scully but I think you missed a point hitherto not much mentioned on social media.
The US has a huge and very valuable industry of arms production. Stocks in these have been flying upwards. Lobbyists schmooze with luxury meals and gifts in Washington.
What does this huge industry produce? Weapons of war! It is monetarily in their interest to keep wars going in the world.
The “no more wars” idea is naive and would be hilarious if it were not so misguided. The US government may not want wars to which it would have to send vote carrying troops but it absolutely has little impetus to end ongoing wars that are not on American soil. The only reason they will get involved is to maintain the flow of trade. Especially where that includes oil.
