We've got Covid šŸ™„

As @Corona wrote, we donā€™t. Silliest thing Iā€™ve read for a while.

I think itā€™s best if we all accept that everyone will have their own ideas about how they wish to act re covid and any other illnesses will might be rife in their neck of the woods.

In our villageā€¦ a group gathers in the open air, waiting for the Bakerā€¦ various bugs/germs etc (possibly covid) are out and aboutā€¦
People wave as they arriveā€¦ and call bonjourā€¦ one friend might walk over and decide to kiss someoneā€¦ that person either agrees orā€¦ smiles, backs away, touches one hand to chest, lips and waves it at the other personā€¦

another person arrivesā€¦ ā€œBonjour de loinā€ (or similar) echoes aroundā€¦
no-one takes offence

Not all :slightly_smiling_face: itā€™s very much up to you. And some donā€™t have that choice at all.

By the way I tried to upload my latest vaccination certificate to covid et moi and failed, the pharmacist says itā€™s because the website is more or less defunct and nobody is maintaining it because COVID is very old hat now.

Well of course because there are all sorts of lurgies arenā€™t there. I have a fear for and loathing of herpes and donā€™t go within a metre of a person with it, and Iā€™ll leave a shop rather than be served by someone with a cold soreā€¦ Iā€™m sure some people think this is an overreaction but thatā€™s how it is.

Same problem here. The app reports that the QR code was not the correct format - Iā€™ve emailed Ameli and expect a reply within 3 or 4 months. Iā€™ve downloaded the certificate from the Ameli site onto my phone so I donā€™t have to carry bits of A4 paper with me when I travel.

Thatā€™s exactly what it told me, the pharmacist who did the injection said ā€˜maintenant ils sā€™en foutent un peu, le site nā€™est plus vraiment mis Ć  jour. Nous de toute faƧon on fait notre boulot et on fait remonter lā€™infoā€™.

Sorry Corona Iā€™m a great fan of yours but thatā€™s out of order.

Yes, we were told the same for our ā€œweā€™ve hadā€ certs.

I didnā€™t spot that comment. Itā€™s not like we donā€™t spend shedloads on research and education in an effort to reduce deaths from those causes.

Many of us make lifestyle choices in an attempt to minimise personal risk from things like heart disease and I donā€™t get why doing something similar for COVID is cause for derision.

Sorry you feel that way but I defend my right to go out and as the pandemic is not as bad as it was first time, those that feel they should shield are right to do so and others can make their own choices.

Donā€™t worry Karen it was treated with the contempt it deserved.

Yes they are Stella, it means a great loss to someone or their whole family. What I was trying to get the point over is many many many more people die from other causes. Cancer deaths for example are up because people shielded and couldnt get treatments and much the same with the other causes I mentioned but so many seem to have lots sight of the larger threats.

Nope, my wife is back in the UK for the funeral of one of our best friends, he had COVID 3 times due to him continuing in his role as a drug and alcohol councillor and has suffered greatly for the last 8 months, his doctor kept on palming him off with it being due to long COVID, eventually he gets taken into hospital due to massive headaches and nose bleeds.
After they sent him for a scan and x-rays, it turned out he was riddled with stage 4 cancer, brain, lungs, spine and chest cavity, he lasted 6 weeks after that before he died last week at 50, leaving a wife and 14 year old daughter.
You shouldnā€™t make so many assumptions about people as they are invariably wrong :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

How utterly appalling  thatā€™s so grim, condolences.

Terribly sad :disappointed:

That is unbelievably sad, my condolences :bouquet:

My sincere condolences :frowning:

That is truly tragic and sorry for their loss. A doctor with tunnel vision on covid is unacceptable, how many others are misdiagnosed by them, cant help but be concerned. My GP did the same with me, I persisted with the practice owner and was possitively diagnosed with cancer, we know our own bodies and should seek a second opinion if not satisfied. BTW the first GP in my case was sacked from the practice.

Do you have Min Espace SantƩ? If you have the app on your portable the Covid vacc certificate can be seen there. Our pharmacist uploaded mine directly we were jabbed.

(Not that we go anywhere much where it needs flashing these days :smirk:)

True!

So sad to hear of your wifeā€™s friend. My heartfelt condolences.

So sorry to read that. So many systems and organisations havenā€™t recovered from Covid yet, including the NHS and some doctors.
