We were listening to Classic FM whilst preparing lunch and had the thought, ‘Why do they advertise hearing aids on the radio’?
Pardon? I Heard That.
Sorry but you brought to mind an old TV comedy from many years ago called I Didn’t Know You Cared. Amongst others it featured a deaf war veteran who had his old army mate’s ashes in a box that was on a string round his neck. And that was his catchphrase, he couldn’t hear anything but he always assumed they were talking about him.
Robin Baily, quizmaster of The 64,000 Dollar Question starred, along with Irish actor Stephan Rea and others that I can’t remember.
How far are we going back, In colour or black and white
'70s or '80s I think. I’ve been away for a while @Jane_Williamson set me off Googling the whole cast and it has taken a while to get back here.
Funny thing is Robin Bailey had a very long acting career but not once was the only other thing I remember him for, that quiz show, mentioned at all.
Thanks @Susannah , sadly not quite a s funny as I remember it, but it does make you wonder why all those Yorkshire women are so frustrated.
And Uncle Stavely never once mentioned the full phrase that stuck in my memory, and I certainly don’t remember him saying ‘pardon’ all the time like that.
Funny thing, memory, when you’re old enough to forget it.
Semaphore?
On a very temporary basis.
Lol, I bet they would if they could. They would then brag about the cuts they had made this year
I really really don’t like how AI does hands
