Amazon accounts

I have 3 Amazon accounts – UK, FR & DE. I use them with one email address and with a different password for each, which are stored in Chrome. Whichever Amazon I click on, Amazon opens up with my name showing in the top right menu on UK, FR or DE. Already logged in.

Can’t seem to do that anymore.

Amazon UK always opens with my name showing - no problem there. But each time I try to log in to FR or DE it says my password is wrong, that I should change to a new one.

To change the password, I have to wait for an email with a code, then wait for an SMS with a code, and then select a new password before I can log in to my FR or DE account. Always have to go through this process each time I want to visit FR and DE!

Does anyone have the same problem? Or am I doing something wrong?

Yes, same problem. If I use a different email address, then it seems to work - but then you have to have separate accounts…

I have just one Amazon account. I have used it on Amazon UK, France, Spain and Germany. You don’t need separate accounts. If this is happening to multiple people, then it could be that Amazon have stopped people using multiple accounts using the same email address.

The problem that both I and Bonzocat have is that when we have a single a/c, then when you go to either FR, DE, or SP, or IT amazon website, the password is not accepted and you have to go through the forgotten password routine. My account, until a couple of months ago just worked like yours and did not have a problem.

I just use one address with one password for all. It is an Amazon account and not specific to each country.

Same as Matt: my Amazon accounts (FR, DE and UK) all use the same email address and password. I do have a separate FR account using a different email) password combination as well. I’ve never had any problems.

Something odd going on. Amazon.com (USA) just opened up with my name showing - already logged in. I have made a few purchases from the USA. I can open both Amazon UK and USA with the same email address.

I read somewhere - will have to have another look - that Amazon does not allow more than one account with the same email address.

This doesn’t and has never happened to me. I’ve only ever had one account, one password which hasn’t been changed for several years. If this is happening to you, then I suggest you try deleting all your Amazon cookies and then logging into each countries website individually with the same account.

I just changed my FR password to match the UK password and it worked! So too USA. Now to try DE!

I’ve made all my passwords the same for UK, FR, DE and USA. All open up already logged in. Thank you Brian.

I’ve just opened up another Amazon account, Spain, with the same password as all the others and it works. Provided you use the same password it seems that you can open multiple Amazon accounts, with the same email address.

Yes you can have multiple accounts in different countries with the same username and password, but prime has to be bought in each country to get the benefits and gift cards only work in the country they are bought in.

An account with the same username (email address) and same password is in essence the same account. It is for me.
If I log into say the FR site, change a setting, log out and then log into the UK site, that setting is changed on the UK site as well.

I have just one Amazon account (UK) but have purchased in the past from Amazon.fr and had goods shipped to the UK.

As a test I just logged in to Amazon.fr and it happily accepted my UK email and password.

I think if you are having login issues it’s either because they don’t like you having multiple accounts, or maybe you have some scrambled cookies (are they a thing?) in your web browser?

I did have log-in problems a few days ago but since I now use the same password and the same email address for each account, I no longer have those problems. You can have multiple accounts with the same password and one email address. Amazon is not worried, it seems.

Previously I had different passwords for each account, with only one email address, and had no problems for years. An Amazon blip occurred but that’s over and log-in to these accounts runs smoothly again.

Yep, login problems solved! Now same password and email address on all. Unfortunately, I also got rid of all amazon cookies - so not sure which worked (forgot about just changing one variable at a time

I wouldn’t worry about the cookies! It is clear to me that they had nothing to do with this Amazon blip. Yes, they do have a purpose - smooth browsing experience - but sometimes too many cookies can clog up the system from time to time, but not as annoying as this hopefully dead as a parrot Amazon blip!

Too many cookies would certainly kill a parrot!

Is it time for a thread drift?
Amazon prime tv is adding in adverts or pay more to have them not do this.
Just stop advertising!
Needless crap you are not interested in and dont want being thrust at you mid film. Listen America, your screwed up country should leave the rest of us alone to enjoy ourselves. On the occasions we do want to purchase stuff we can go online and do our own researchfrom people who actually have the product and can evaluate it accurately. Marketing is at best stretching the truth and at worst just lying.

Rant over.
