Hi everyone,
I’m thinking about going back to France with my fiancé, who’s English with British passport. Just an initial thought but not sure where to look as I’m French so non of the rules that will apply to him are something I’m aware of.
He works from home so it won’t be an issue but obviously we will need to check for taxes.
What about healthcare and visa?
Thank you in advance
Silvie
Bonjour et bienvenue
Have a look here… https://france-visas.gouv.fr/web/france-visas/accueil
I fear this is not going to be as straightforward as you expect it will be, due to Brexit. There’s no longer freedom of movement, so your fiancé can no longer simply just turn up and start working unfortunately. He’ll first need to apply for a visa, and there are certain criteria that must be met.
Bonne chance!

Though, to be fair, working for a UK company “from home” in France was never the easiest undertaking, even pre-Brexit.
When do you get married? So much easier if that has happens as then spouse of EU citizen.
Otherwise your partner is exactly the same as any other third country national and will need ro fulfil the criteria for which ever visa they want to apply for (income, health insurance etc). And remote working will be a big issue as employer needs to be registered in France and paying tax and social charges here.
Which I can attest are much higher than in the UK (both for employee and especially employer)
