I swapped my UK driving licence for a French one in 2006. It transferred my C1 into Category C, with an expiry of 2012. I would like to know if I can renew the Category C element with a medical and a new application.
Hi, if you exchanged your licence before 01/01/2021 and have C1 on your French licence, albeit the medical, column 11 date, has expired.
Yes you can reactivate your C1 by including a medical with your renewal.
Just remember that your card will only be reissued for 5 years and must be renewed before the 4b date or the medical date in column 11 if you wish to keep C1 valid.
Thankyou for your help.
Absolutely the case up to age 60, then the medical has to be taken every 2 years, then yearly from age 76.
I know you know @kim but I thought I’d mention it for @BettyFord
Kim, given the information I have shared with you and we pass our medicals (there is no reason for us not to) is there any reason for our application to be refused?
Also, do you have any idea how long this type of application is taking please?
