I have a friend who is hospitalised after a serious stroke and is not receiving the treatment she needs due to staffing shortages.
Just one instance, no physio on her paralysed arm.
There is more, but I find this deeply disturbing and can only hope this does not happen to either of us.
Does this friend have close family nearby? And, if so, is the issue that they have tried to discharge her, and found resistance or even refusal?
When I saw the title I assumed this could be about right to life!
But how is the lack of available medical services overruling family concerns? Ot are they refusing to prescribe something the family thinks they need? In which case a letter for complaint to hospital director is needed
She has family, but complaints to the neurosurgeon and nurses get nowhere.
They have agreed she can go to a hospital with a small rehabilitation ward nearer home, but it is waiting for a bed.
It is not just about right to life, apparently it covers all treatment.
Complaints to individuals rarely get anyway. They need to write formally to the hospital.
