I would have thought that if this was a general thing, and the fault of a particular update, then you would be able to find something recent online about this but a quick search now found nothing.
What driver are you trying to download ? Just a specific driver ?

Isn’t it possible to rollback the update ?

When you say “blocks” what do you mean, what driver and what error message do you get?

Hi I am trying to get a driver for my printer which worked fine but now when I try to download a new one a box for Microsoft pops up saying it is not approved even though I am getting it from Microsoft download site

Which printer and can you screenshot the error.

Have you tried removing all the printer software and driveers and reinstalling from scratch?

Another episode of MS “now you see them, now you don’t”?

Hi my printer is an epson xp-30 when I try to open it a box comes up saying
The app you are trying to install isn’t a microsoft-verified app

I would go with remove/reinstall - updates sometimes do odd things.

I am tempted to ask why you need the new driver though - is the printer working?

I’m also tempted to check if you are downloading the driver from M$ and not a 3rd party site - I know you said you were but (e.g.) malware sites will do their best to look like M$

well the printer worked fine, apart from ms I have tried various other download sites all to no avail main computer is an ACER but I have to have another to do any printing I like the ACER because it fast but have to use a DELL for printing but it is to slow to use as my main computer

You’ve lost me a bit now.

Have you followed my advice of removing all the printer’s software and drivers?

When you have done that either re-install the current version from the printer manufacturer’s web site or let windows auto-detect it as new hardware and download the drivers itself.

Oh, and probably worth running a virus scan.

Hi all whatever the problem was it has now gone not sure how this happened so thank you all for your assistance
