Just a little reminder if you are travelling to allow more time. I fly to Lyon in November so will allow more time at the airport ( might mean missing the Spoons for breakfast)
Good advice - but it can’t be worse than going through US Immigration.
Also you’re just as likely to get held up going to the UK as the Border Force IT system seems to have a habit of breaking down.
Does this have any effect on French residents travelling on a UK passport with a carte de sejour? If the demarcation is either UK or EU passport holders, l assume allowances would be made regardless of citizenship?
are you asking about Brits with the special Carte de Sejour(Withdrawal Agreement) or just Brits with a general Carte de Sejour
Answered my own question!
We have warp cards
I imagine there will be much wailing and complaining by Brexiteers - who will conveniently ignore the fact that the UK has it’s own plans to introduce biometrics to the process of entering the UK for non-UK passport holders.
Not that I’m looking forward to it or the “EU punishment” narrative that will undoubtedly accompany it.
that’s great news !!!

That’s more use, for anyone with concerns… cheers
I’m sure there will be lots of confusion for at least a few months after this comes into effect. Akin to the stamping of passports of EU residents after Brexit came into force … it happened twice to me.
Interestingly, it seems that non EU citizens with a WA card should not go through the new automatic gates in Europe as these will just see a non EU passport and start a 90 day clock. We have to be manually processed with our CdS to stop this happening. I can see many a French border force person insisting we go through the automatic gates.
I travelled to the UK a few weeks ago and insisted that the french side did not stamp my passport and showed them my CDS which they were more interested in and waved me through both on exit and return to France. The UK side at Stansted is automatic passport reading machines and do not stamp anything. This airport locally is very tiny and has no technical gates so everyone coming or going is seen by a Douane in a booth to check ID.
Same for us at Carcassonne airport. They are installing new scanners though to conform to the new rules about liquids. They have a video you can watch as you queue showing the new process. It suggests you should be able to take unopened bottles of spirits through, which I did not expect. If so, a bottle of good Armagnac for my sister in law may be going with me next year
We make a point of giving our warp cards first, with our passports and they never stamp the passports
I don’t think the French customs will direct French residents with a cds to the automated system because it is geared to process EU passports only- not CDS. So we will have to queue with other non EU passport holders to have our data manually inputted
Twas exactly what I was thinking
Please have your Dilithium crystals ready for inspection.
With a surname of Kirk, this is nothing new to me- went through most of my life being referred to as captain!
