Flats in Bordeaux

Daughter looking for flat to rent in Bordeaux, either studio or one bed. Near line 1 would be good.
Anyone got any ideas, particuly with the amount of spams.
Many thanks

Go to a Location immobilier for secure properties that would not be spam or scam. Son got both his student flats via the local newspaper and visited with us in person to meet the owners who then did the official contracts for which we had to supply our avis d’imposition and guarantee to pay the rent if they failed to and in both cases, our children took out renter’s insurance which was mandatory if they wanted the flats with the owners both time. Le Bon Coin has locations but in all cases, the property needs to be seen in person and with the official owners. If your daughter is a student, very often there are adverts in the campus’ for rents or co-locations but be careful with others, they can do a runner and leave your daughter to pay for everything.
Just remembered the national agency for rentals we used for one flat was FONCIA and also for renting a garage for one of the kid’s cars as parking was central Brest and impossible in the streets.

Many thanks sheba. She is working & it’s a new job. Lots of the ads we’ve seen are just for students and there seems a lot of odd ones. We are happy to help her out till she ges t estabalished so I’ll try the others you suggested. She’s having to commute at the moment & it’s not ideal.
Thanks again for your help, regards

I have a colleague living in Bordeaux in a large share for info the cost is 600€ pm . I can ask if there is a space coming available soon if it helps.

The second flat my son rented was a brand new renovation when we went to see it, right in the centre of the city, about ten mins walk from UBO where he studied. It was a huge one bed place, the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom but that was because of the plumbing so was also used for storage, freezer, washing machine etc. When he finished his degree, he gave notice and a nice young professional lady took over the rental, very happy where my OH had done some kitchen work for the owners who had reduced son’s rent at one stage. Try the agencies, they are a bit more picky.

Many thanks Mat As she is doing a lot of preperation work at the moment she needs a quiet place but I’ll se how she gets on. regards

Hi Sheba, many thanks . Your son’s flat sounds exactly what she is looking for. Could you recommend any agent that are ok. She’s had sevealr ‘I’ll show you the flat after the money has been paid’!!
regards

As I said, we used Foncia who found a studio in a converted three storey house that my daughter rented for a year whilst doing her degree and also for the garage for son’s car. A lot of well known high street immos have a location dept, maybe google for Bordeaux and see what comes us, given them a ring and ask for some details etc.

Hi Matt, daughter is now considering a share as the commuting is not really working. She has to do a car for 30mins, the a train & 2 trams, that’s when the trains are working! So if you hear anything would you please let me know
many thanks
