I’ve had this service available on my Android phone for ages but have never had call to use it. Until today, when I pressed the ‘Screen Call’ button by mistake.
The caller then hears a recorded message asking then to say what they’re calling about, and Google transcribes their answer so you can decide whether to take the call or not. Given that this was the transcription presented to me, I really had no idea what I should do:
"Electricity de nouvelle de mechanismontetime plus professional honest foreign. Tu velociva trellis immunity. Merced envirch correspond una decio que selección de Nuevo. Mio vecío pin selección de vecre par set up Pandora.”
Trellis Immunity? Is this ISIHAC related? Actually, I know exactly what to do; disable the service.
I do not know about that particular feature, but I find that the transcriptions, in English, for Google Voice are fairly intelligible. Is there a setting for French?
No idea. When it appeared I was told it was ‘optimised for my territory’. I have a French-purchased phone, Google Play is set to France, and I have a French service provider so perhaps Google AI’s French isn’t as good as it thinks it is!
This is the phrase you should use when arrested by North Korean secret police for stealing a garden trellis. It informs them that you are an honest foreign professional and they should let you go swiftly as you have diplomatic immunity.
