The first email tells you that you're going to receive a second one telling you what to do - just print off, sign and send a copy of the your declaration to the address in the second email. As for the frais de dossier, I think that's standard in case there are any but nothing is mentioned in the second email which is where they would have included them (to be sent to them with the printed-off signed copy)

PS I still get letters and emails years after leaving the AE sceme even though I'm still in business in the mainstream system and still with the RSI (some letters are five years out of date!!!)

I believe I will go with the last received email and send a copy of the Declaration of Radiation Notice but I do not have a Professional Card and will just send a copy of my Passport. The first email mentions that I will receive copies of what I have to send - so hopefully this will mean the last mentioned email and Declaration of Radiation Notice - but I do not see why I have to pay costs (she phoned and spoke to my daughter perhaps she is going to charge me for that).

You are a star Andrew Hearne - that is what I did - when in doubt say nowt. Thanks hopefully I can now print out the forms (once accepted) and send off a copy of my passport and that is it - well apart from the CFE charge and tax on next year.

Thank you Andrew Hearne I did put the name correctly as you said. My problem is that I do work from home and neither Forain and the other option is Ambulant,non sedentaire will be true surely. There is no other box for me to complete. Thank you for your kind response though and enjoy your holiday.

I guess you put Fear and Patricia down as your last and first name (nom (de famille) and prénom) so the problem is that you're claiming to be ambulant (no fixed work place) and according to them that isn't the case and you need to un-tick the box. Surely you work from home/have a base - I need more info to be able to help but in the first instance just un-tick the box.
I'm on holiday at the moment (the only week in the year when we close the shop) but do get a chance to look at my emails but perhaps not everyday ;-( But I'm sure Tracy et al can answer any other questions ;-)

Vous n'êtes pas "ambulant", décochez la case "ambulant, ressortissant de l'UE"
Pour vous aidez, nous vous proposons l'assistance du CFE, dans ce cas, elle vous sera facturée 40 ?.

My cessation d'activité actually mentioned who I had to send the completed form to (my local CFE (centre de formalités des entreprises) in my case) perhaps things have changed but I would have thought they're still the best people to got through if you're not registered with a chambre de metiers or other body. If you are, I'd still send a copy to your local CFE if you have dealings with them ;-)

Oh thank you all so much I did fill in a brief box job on cfe metier but received no form to complete and very much like the form sent by Jillian Wasiewicz Baudry and may very well print that off and send it. I want to finish now as I have no work, and therefore at 63 wish to retire and use my UK state pension to live on. This is also the same Chambre that I registered at in Pontivy so I think it would be appropriate. Thanks.
Hi Patsie, while you don't have to close even if you have no work, you would still be liable to pay the CFE tax once your exoneration period finishes and as John says, still keep on top of your declarations, so may be a good idea to take care of this. If you type in resiliation autoentrepreneur into Google, you get this link to a form P2-P4:

This is the form I filled in. I sent it to my Chambre de Metiers et de l'Artisanat, as this is where I first registered, but not sure if this would be the case for you...it was easy as they contacted all the relevant bodies, tax dept etc for me. Good luck!
agree, it's far better to do the job properly (as I did when I changed regimes and set up the current company a couple of years ago - mind you I had no choice as I couldn't do both!) and as I said it's very quick and easy, just like address changes etc. under the AE regime (four times in four years meaning four changes of URSSAF too!)
PS I meant to say "you don't have to close down just because there's no work..." but as I am at work myself with little time, I didn't reread what I'd written :-(
Better to kill in Andrew otherwise the keep writing to you every three months asking how much you’ve made. If you don’t reply on time they threaten to fine you a percentage of zero 
firstly you can leave it open and they'll close you down after a certain period with no work or you simply do it on the website under résiliation - it takes affect immediately and you print off a copy, sign it and send it in ;-)
