Does anyone have an international moving company to recommend?
We’re moving from NYC area to Southern France, and I’m searching for a shipper that has had considerable experience with international moves (customs clearing agents, forms etc.). I’ve googled and found a few but was wondering if anyone had some recent xp with any

That is probably why the OP asked for personal experience. Your reply came across as less than welcoming John and you are usually very helpful.
Think best for the OP to go on a forum specially for american folks on the move. Most of us are brits on SF who moved after buying holiday homes or retirement and a lot did it themselves with a rental truck. I only know about sending a family cat from Heathrow to DFW, not quite the same.
True Mik, but sometimes I think the questions are rather too basic. It’s not as if one couldn’t search on the internet and even look for Trustpilot ratings or whatever.
Welcome TFJWM, how do you pronounce that BTW? Taffjoom, sounds a bit Welsh to me.

We engaged Pickfords to bring all our stuff over 25 years ago and by that time the Allied bit had been added which I believe is American. They did alright by us although my wife did moan about a tiny piece of wood knocked off the top of our grandfather clock. The tiny piece was still with the load but, turning my head to check, I see that it has not been stuck back on again yet.

I used Pickfords to move my belongings from NYC to London - OK move, everything packed and delivered and unpacked.
used them again for move London - Toronto - London
incl,. Landrover we had a 40ft container goingand a 40ft and 20ft coming back. Packed and unpacked.
Only item not making the trip was 1 crushed lampshade + 1 glass vase.
company moves - hence didn’t mind the price $$$$$
Thanks for your response I had already spent a few hours researching movers and narrowing it down to a couple to get quotes from. I had just learned about this forum and thought to reach out if any had xp with movers in my area. I am sorry if my question was too basic for you maybe just read and move on next time
