In my experience, my GP’s surgery has deteriorated markedly over the last 20 years. It’s difficult to see a GP; a lot of the work that a GP used to do is now done by a nurse; it’s impossible to get an urgent appointment, let alone a visit.
I suppose Labour’s problem is it chose a simplistic message - well, barely more than a slogan - to describe a complex problem.
Indeed they did, and so do many others.
Yes, we all know the NHS is in a poor state, but to use the wording that some do is likely to make those working hard to keep the present level of service going want to simply give up and walk away. The ‘Angry Of Chelsea’ (other towns available) approach is simply poor for a politician when used like this. They have to manage people in the organisation they are responsible for, and failing to do so can only reduce their chances of success.
