John Bercow defies Eurosceptics with vow to stay on as Speaker

I’ve got one with >14 000 of the filthiest ones in English with translations into French; and about
8, 000 French obscenities with Anglo equivalents. It’s a scream of a page-turner, and I’d be missing out on about 20% of the best of French télé and film without it :stuck_out_tongue:

You should have told them to “jog on” Glenn apparently according to some on here that’s acceptable. I’d also be careful of expressing your view that you are entitled to vote how you want to as that will bring the house down and you could find yourself being accused of all sorts of false accusations and will probably be asked to get your coat and head for the door.

In any event l for one am very grateful for your service and all those other fine women and men who served alongside you so that we can enjoy a free and democratic society without fear. THANK YOU

I accept that Brexit stirs the emotions but abusing each other is not going to change anything or lead to an adult discussion, after a bit of time on here you get to know how people think or are going to react but that’s just the way they are, it really isn’t that important in the scale of things.

Interesting one isn’t it? On the one hand there seems to be a legitimate complaint that 100,000 Tory voters will decide the future of Britain - presumably these are the Hard Brexiters, yet the same Tories are equally bothered about the apparent power of one man to derail that?

Isn’t this one of those curious things that seem to put British Democracy into a strange light? The genuinely unelected House of Lords usually being the primary thing in this category.

Wonder what the remaining 69 million(?) Brits think about this (assumng they can be bothered at all after all this time)?

I have been watching a series of videos on Iran, it looks a stunning place with very friendly locals:

Iran has well educated young people who are totally at odds with the religious leadership.
Saudia Arabia is at the moment highlighting the interference of Iran in its neighbours affairs.
Pot calling the kettle black, but a dangerous place to be if you want to express a different set of values.
The whole point of my post, as everyone well knows, is that, to my mind and that of many others, Brits who live in an EU country and voted for Brexit have caused huge problems, worry and financial loss for their fellow citizens, many of whom are retired and on fixed incomes.
Perhaps it would be worse for them to be sent to Coventry?

…or Scunthorpe.

Wow, what a great adventure she is having. :slightly_smiling_face:

It has been an excellent series of videos to follow.

What machine is she riding? It makes a pop-pop-pop noise, no beast of a bike, then.

I’d rather be sent to Coventry - Scunthorpe is grim as is Grimsby (clue’s in the name there).

Yes, Grimsby is one of the grimmest plaes i’ve been unlucky enough to visit.

I used to rent a Bullet every time i went to India, absolute piece of crap. The Himalayan looks a much better machine than the Bullet.

Funny you should mention Flying instructor, mine used to say that as well. Now they were not wussies. Imagine if they used some of the language today, OMG they would be sent to Iran.
