As in the title and I know it’s a very long shot, my OH would like to have a Scottish Bagpiper at our wedding in May, does anyone know of one in France before we book one from the UK, it’s for a wedding in the Le Mans (72) area.

I’ve a good French friend who plays all the various French mediaeval bagpipe instruments professionally, he’s well connected in that world and I’ve emailed him about your search.

OT similar to the above bagpipe cartoon.
On my last train journey home from work in Paris I threatened an SNCF train conductor that I would take my clothes off if he didn’t increase the air conditioning as it was so hot in the carriage. ‘Je vais ôter mes vêtements C’est une menace pas une promesse’. Others had asked previously.
I was most disappointed when the air conditioning was promptly increased.

My neighbour, a music teacher and flautist, comes from Le Mans and visits regularly I can ask here whether she knows who you might ask - a conservatoire or école de musique perhaps?
Otherwise if other leads don’t pan out try asking associations who teach it
Thanks for the replies, my OH has already contacted a few music collages and a couple of pipe bands to see if they have/know anyone who could do the wedding, if need be we can get one from the UK, but they have priced accordingly as they have to travel/stay and the hassle as well.
I could always line up the nine cats and stand on their tails and see if I can get a tune out of them

Slightly off topic, but apparently China has a military pipe band, which is currently playing at the curling at the Winter Olympics. They look pretty amazing.

I have a friend here in Glastonbury who plays the pipes, I’ll ask him if he has any contacts. If you get stuck I could ask if he’d travel!
