A cautionary tale here about Covid 19 ‘bubbles’, PCR testing and mask wearing.
Just received this email from French health ministry.

I’m assuming it is worth doing since, if I have understood correctly, FFPP2 masks are better than the general surgical type masks we have been buying. Be grateful for confirmation that is correct. Thanks

I’m just wondering if it is genuine or not… since it doesn’t give your name… and they are asking you to click on … something…
or am I being too sensitive… ???

Sounds like a variation on this from last year
I would certainly be highly suspicious about that one. If you hover over the supplied link, does it give a really plausible website address?

Google offers lots of stuff… seems this particular current email was classed/reported as fraudulent only last month… January 2021…
Thanks everyone - on further investigation, OH already suspicious when he looked at the request for bank details!!! Also the full site address is not kosher. So useful to have this site. Much appreciated.

Back in Jan 2020, the third week in Jan to be precise, I sat in my doctor’s very full waiting room to get a repeat prescription. I waited for an hour opposite a woman who had a dreadful repetitive cough, and she coughed continually during that time, one hand holding a book and the other holding a wad of tissues over her mouth.
Two days later I had the most painful burning sore throat, more than I have ever experienced in my life. Two days later I developed that same repetitive cough which lasted for four weeks – nothing like that have I had, ever, in my life!
Can I get a blood test to find out if I actually had the dreaded virus back in 2020? Just out of curiosity. Would there still be any traces of it in my blood?
There won’t be any viral material left - a PCR test will be no use. If you haven’t been vaccinated then you could take an antibody test, but if you WERE vaccinated then that would not help either. If you had contacts in a local university or perhaps even your pharmacy they could test for anti-nucleoprotein antibodies (I’m reasonably sure the vaccine generates a response to spike protein only - need to check) if they were running in-house ELISA testing, but it could be so long ago now that antibody levels are too low.
The vaccine gives you antibodies against the spike protein, infection gives you antibodies against all sorts of random bits of the virus so it is still possible to tell if someone has had Covid, even if they have been vaccinated.
You need someone who can do the ‘right’ test.

This reminds me of an email I received when living in South Africa, that purported to be from someone with a Nigerian name, who was apparently the manager of a Cape Town bank. Two things raised my suspicions, firstly the misspelling of Cape Town and secondly, no S African bank would employ a Nigerian as a cleaner, let alone a manager:
