OFII Medical Checkup: X-ray no longer required

We’ve just finally had an email inviting us to Bordeaux for our OF11 visit . Although the letter said we should bring a recent x-ray , they have since confirmed that the X-ray is no longer valid ( since June 2024 . I’m posting this up as I have found nothing confirming this anywhere on line.

What is the actual French phrase they used ???

the thread title mentions “no longer required”… which is not the same as “is no longer valid”…

Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration = -OFII not OF11.
Sorry but had to say it, OF11 was irritating me.

L’examen radiologique n’est plus demandé depuis le 1er juin 2024.
C’est pour cela que vous n’avez pas de rendez-vous pour la radio.

Which seems quite clear? They no longer give you an appointment for an X-ray.

You used to get two appointments, one fo x-ray and 1 for interview/medical assessment as in post above. This has now changed.

Ah, well,…

if you’d enquired about an appointment for an X-ray (as said X-ray was needed for submission with your OFII request) …

I reckon that “they” are now telling you …
"you don’t have an appointment for an X-Ray as the need for such an X-ray was (officially) removed on 1st June 2024… "

I’m still confused to be honest.

Only relates to OSS 117

I hadn’t realised a medical examination was part of the process.

I presume conditions like hypertension and high cholesterol aren’t prohibitive?

I don’t think any medical conditions are prohibitive - I think the x-ray was originally required to check for TB.

We had our OFII meeting today. There was no language test , no x-ray needed , it took an hour and a half and we had to meet a doctor to discuss any medical
Issues , fill out a mental health questionaire , get weighed and measured and do a simple eye test . The staff in Bordeaux were lovely and it was a stress free experience.

Has the procedure changed?

We just had emails, to which a brief questionnaire was attached for completion by our MT. The questionnaire asks only for confirmation that the subject doesn’t have any transmissible disease or mental health condition.

Is this a preliminary screening or is that it?

I’ve not read of anything, but it is possible. The current webpage does make it sounds less likely for those who are not asylum seekers, but is dated 2022.

sounds hopeful. You’ve already got your own MT and he/she has answered the questionnaire.
All steps in the right direction :+1:

@Gin basically just what we had a year ago but had no need to discuss any medical problems. It felt as if they wanted to make sure we did not have any nasty transferrable diseases (TB, etc) and were happy with that. All in all a really simple process. BTW doc and nurse were lovely, although I do think it helped we talked French
