I read today in one of my french online papers that as from summer this year, all households who still have the old pre-Linky electric meters will be charged every two months a tax for not changing which amounts to around €68/year plus more on top of that if Linky is refused and readings are not sent in when demanded. Maybe if your french pad is a holiday home its best to get a smart meter fitted and that way, they will not quibble about readings when they can see no power is on unlike the old ones where youhave to proove everthing with photos and readings.

Just make sure you are there when they change it and put the correct cable into the correct connection. Still arguing with Enerdis to get them to come and correct their error.
