Pension for dogs near Chatellerault

Hello! This is my first post as I have just found this page - it seems great! I have looked over past posts but didn’t find what I’m looking for. We have just moved to in between Chatellerault and La Roche-Posay. We used to leave our dogs at a lovely pension near Angers, but it’s now two hours away, one way, so we are hoping to find something closer. Our dogs are very social, and the pension near Angers also does daycare, and allows the dogs to play together during the day and sleep together at night, which our two love. We are looking for something similar here - at least one where they can play with other dogs during the day, if not sleep together at night. I can only find places that keep the dogs separated at all times. If anyone has any ideas, they would be gratefully received. Thank you!

Ask a local vet for recommendations. Pensions often put an ad in a vet’s waiting room, that was where I found one of the ones I used previously and the vet used to use it herself too!

Can’t help but welcome to the forum! You should pop over to the introduce yourself section

it sounds like you’ve been here a while so I’m sure your knowledge will be of help to others.

@Motherrobyn - maybe an hour + is too far away from you but if not, this is a place we see on the way to town and it gets 4.9 out of 5 in reviews. It’s called “Pension Le Domaine De L’Agnas” and has a website you can look at.

Will do, thanks.

@Shiba, thanks. We’re looking for vet recommendations as well. @Rachel05, thanks, I’ll take a look.

Look at this site which may have something in your area

A welcome from me too, but not sure I can help. There is a well run pension near me in N. Dordogne where the owner positively welcomes dogs who can sleep together because it frees up another kennel. They get to run about with others, where suitable, in the large field surrounding the living quarters too.

@David_Spardo , thanks. That might work for this next trip if we can’t find anything close to our house. Do you have any contact info?

Yes I’ll dig it out and post it later

The owner is a friend and her name is Sharon, I have a number but think it best if you try Chenil de la Dordogne at St. Martial de Valette first. That is the name of the business. I always find that the best way for me to contact her is via Facebook Messenger but for you she might be hard to find as her name is not uncommon.
Let me know if you can’t find her and I’ll give you her number, but she is terrible at answering that as she must get hundreds of spam calls and, like me, ignores people or numbers she does not recognise.

@David_Spardo thanks. I’ll look for one around our home, but if I come up empty, I’ll try your friend.

Thank you, @JaneJones
