French Connections has closed. I’m looking at Halcyon Leisure and Simply Holidays. Anyone got any other suggestions, please? I only had one booking last year!
Thanks. Gail
Do you only want UK clients?
We don’t market to the UK at all, and clients are 50% french and rest dutch, german and belgian. We use France-Voyage.com and Cybevasion.com
Thanks Jane, that’s very helpful.
Simply Owners https://www.simplyowners.net/
We have many existing french properties.
Holiday Cottages France
We mainly have UK holidaymakers.

Thank you Peter. Very helpful.
I’ve signed up with Simply Owners, Halcyon Leisure and now French Vacations (run by the people who used to run French Connections for many years, very successfully). But thus far not a single booking. I’m obviously missing a trick but don’t know what it is. How’re your bookings for 2025?
We are now virtually fully booked until the Autumn. A week here and there still to fill. But our clientele is mainly French.
Were they mostly from France Voyage.com? I would struggle to sign up with a French company.
Same here. I only use Gites de France. They are maybe a bit expensive, but I do like the class of person who uses them! Mostly quietly spoken and polite. UK visitors I find just a little bit loud…
Why would you struggle to sign up with a french company?
A polite euphemism? The only british people we have appreciated have been French resident ones!
I think the brits are worried about the post brexit restrictions and are going elsewhere these days, my UK family are big fans of the all inclusive spanish holidays as they don’t want to spend precious time driving. I have not seen one UK reg car down here over the past couple of years in the summer. Maybe those with EV’s are not keen to travel out of the UK too plus the ongoing costs of travel anyway.
Why would EV owners be more reluctant to travel out of the U.K. than other car owners?
I’d find it difficult to use a French company because my French is not good enough and I’d struggle.
I assume because there aren’t enough charging posts en route. EV does mean Electrical Vehicles doesn’t it?
Just looked at the website again - I didn’t see the English flag!
Oops. It’s ALL in French and I can’t understand most of it! I’ll have to stick with the English companies…
But there are. My cousin and her family live in the NE of France. They have two company cars an Audi diesel estate and an EV. They have three boys in their late teens and early twenties. When they go on family holidays they always take the EV, finding charging points is not an issue.
NE France isn’t rural and is near Germany etc. I believe that as you drive S/SW there are fewer charging points.
Err they travel all over France on their travels, they don’t take their holidays near where they live. There are charging points throughout rural France and there have been for years.
Not the case, I live in a small village in SW France and we have 2, all the Lidls, supermarkets ect around have them. To the point where one local Super U have put them right in front of the shop in prime position and there’s about 8 of them, with 1 car charging on a good day!
