I saw them once while driving past Rouen, a beautiful sight.

Many years ago, during one of our French road trips, we happened to arrive at La Rochelle on 14th July. There was a large clipper in the harbour with a full orchestra on deck playing to an enraptured crowd. I’ve never seen such a large gathering of people during a festivity be so quiet.
