Tattooing - love it or hate it - and Thoughts about a Blog

I was surprised at Thomas comments as he apparently is ex services and the services used to be keen on tattoos ,before they ever went mainstream

I was surprised how someone could be so thoughtless, especially when Mandy had already spoken of why she wants one to celebrate the love and life that she shared with her beloved husband.
Not a very kind remark to post on here when someone is suffering so much due to a bereavement.
I honestly believe that an apology from Thomas is needed, let’s hope that he is man enough to admit his errer !

actually folks - I am sitting with a big screen in front of me and it is easy for me to follow the conversations.

For anyone on a small screen or handheld whatever, it may not be so easy to follow.

This is perhaps why some answers/comments might appear out of sync or badly judged.

Keep cool everyone… I’ve asked UK friends to send me some of their chilly weather - but they reckon on postal delays - drat and double drat.

understood, and empathized, Simon! I can tell the difference between people and things, animal vegetable and mineral and whatever else there might be, and I’m not an animist. All the same, even the smallest, most commonplace things, have, almost all, cost so much in life and love, and respect is due to each one. . …Concorde! A pure dream machine!

Im so sad to pollute the planet, even a tiny bit, but air travel remains necessary for me, and I love every second of it. Everything else has to be pared down to close to zero, to accommodate it, until I can do overland to Japan, by e-bike.

The attitude to tattoos is changing completely in the UK Only this week the BTP ( one of the strictest Police services ) has announced that they will accept candidates with tattoos on their hands and the back of their necks. The emphasis is moving more towards tattoos not being offensive rather than no tattoos

I have a long and visible scar on the outside of my left leg, from the ankle upwards (12 cm) following an operation many years ago. It becomes even more visible during the summer months and if I wasn’t such a baby I would have it covered with a tasteful tattoo !

@Stella ” but it is hot and I am now concerned about you mowing the grass."

You’re very thoughtful, Stella, I got up early before the sun had rubbed the sleep from her eyes and had her morning cuppa…
…and I don’t to go at the grass hell-for-leather, do 15 minutes at a time…with a floppy jungle hat…and a jug of iced tea in the fridge…also we have a fairly brisk easterly breeze across la Manche, off the North sea…so we are in the low 30s here.

The dots should be a give away re how chilled I am…even my post is getting a tattoo…,:fire::shopping_cart::muscle::ghost::tumbler_glass::wine_glass::point_right::heart::yellow_heart::green_heart::boom::nail_care::cactus::cactus::cactus:

If you’ve a breeze - you are one of the lucky ones. The air is dead here - baked absolutely dry - and it feels like all the life is being drained out of me, with every breath I take outdoors.

I’m trying to meet all my commitments on-line/telephone rather than walk up the street…

The way you describe it there you are at risk, Stella and must put your own welfare at the top of your list of commitments, and that is an order from Nurse Goble, no arguments or pleas! Put that phone down and switch off the computer. Do it now!

Ann, in reply to your post, I APOLOGIZE IF ANYONE WAS OFFENDED by my name calling. Yes i am ex services and still retain my thoughts about any form of ruining the body either through pictures or rings and chains etc. Others may think i am a brainless knuckledragger for my passion of flying and riding motorcycles. If so then they should manup and say so, i WONT be offended. P.S. the block capitals was not shouting. In case posters might think so.

Simon might be so kind to “air” his suspicions as to “what my problem” might be.

Thank you Thomas, I hope that Mandy et al read this post because your other one was indeed offensive and hurtful.
Not sure why you used capitals though, I am neither deaf nor daft

Don’t worry if I think that you brainless or a knuckledragger I will be the first to say so … thoughtless is the word that first sprang to mind though

Oh dear… I use capitals on occasions… but I would never shout ! (except for help)

How are we supposed to emphasise a word if not by using capitals ? “bold” does not show up well enough IMO.

Thanks Ann. I refuse to be upset by thoughtless and unpleasant comments anymore. Happily, I don’t know Thomas so his thoughts and opinions are irrelevant.

I’m afraid that honour belongs to me Thomas, you’ll have to make do with 4th place. However, others will keep him updated on anything you say so he can still make a deeply insulting personal remark about you - did the same to me recently by suggesting l was gay and ‘coming on’ to him - today it’s the size of your manhood. We are blessed to be on his ignored list, if only he WOULD ignore us.

Intolerance perhaps.
I don’t have any tattoos but they certainly don’t destroy a body, alter the look of it yes. Their body, their choice.

Job done! What a breeze - even for a wuss!!! Actually enjoyed it - can definitely understand how it can become addictive @Helen6!! I’ll pop a pic up once things have settled down a bit and I’m looking my best  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
