There is no way of knowing, but I keep asking myself this question “If it wasn’t for the outright intimidation, threats of being primaried, death threats from right-wing cranks and general Mafia tactics employed by Trump, how many Senators would consider voting for Gabbard, Hegseth, RFK Jr., Patel, Oz…on their merits.?”

Their only qualifications are their loyalty to the Mafia boss. They would never have turned up in a normal Republican administration. Contrast these losers to the crop during the Trump’s first term who actually had the unmitigated gall to actually disagree with Trump at key moments.

Many years ago I worked with a French woman, and one day after gently joking with her she cried “Oooh, you are pulling my pigeon!”. Could this be in some way related?
It means to be an idiot but more so a willing (idiot) victim, saying “je ne suis pas un pigeon” is like saying “I wasn’t born yesterday”.
Your friend may have used a somewhat bizarre translation of “on m’a pris pour un pigeon” , in case you were thinking she didn’t know any better.
