UK cars - where to put your Crit'Air sticker

Ouch, my school uniform colour (yes!). I have never worn that shade since.

Wise, when you see who else is wearing it - has put me RIGHT off now

Yes but she asnt got the undercarriage a PPPorsche has, and she dont go like one either. And the Porsche sounds much much better.

Presume the Porsche also has a superior onboard computer…

Also less attitude.

I have a Skoda Octavia and I just put mine in place by using the clear parking ticket holder on the offside of the screen and remove it when not being used. Not had an issue yet and it all seems a bit daft when you can just ‘carry’ the digital version or leave it on the dashboard :man_shrugging:

Oh great. Time we started this thread again. A mere sliver away from 250 posts.

Where’s the ‘bangs head on a brick wall’ emoji when you need it? :zipper_mouth_face::rofl:

It’s become an enduring SF tradition.

Maybe in 2024 we’ll begin a similar debate about whether or not to remove the little plastic thing that holds all our current and previous green insurance stamps.

As you can imagine, I can’t wait…

Welcome, @Andy_Hookway.

The consensus is as long as the answer isn’t “Where the sun don’t shine”, we’re good to go :joy_cat:

Oh no! Watch out Andy - the locals will be getting out their pitchforks and torches again!

But you’re right, in that where ever works for you is the correct answer. And welcome to the forum. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hooray!!  The zombie thread lives again!

(Welcome Andy, you’ve made me proud!)

Of course all of the above assumes the authorities agree to give you a crit air sticker
I applied for one for our ‘66 Volvo and almost put the system into meltdown
Your car is too polluting- you cannot get one they said

Later investigations showed the government have yet to agree to a crit air system for classic/historic vehicles
At the moment the advice is - if stopped - you rely on the common sense of the gendarmes who should recognise that it’s an old, and so exempt car :thinking:

If your '66 vehicle is registered as a “vehicule de collection”… you simply show the gendarmes the carte grise bearing these (magic) words… :+1:

It’s time to talk to these people, but you do need deep pockets.

Thread drift via edit:
Does anyone get annoyed with the little plastic thing now attached to bottle tops?
I find them extremely annoying as they increase the chance of cross threading the cap and losing the fizz!
No doubt its linked to recyling

Yes, probably, but mainly avoids littering by those who discard the hard to find/pick up tops.

It’s a UK registered car so that’s not an option. The same problem - if that is the right description- affects all non French old cars. We are doing the Monte Historique in it later this month and have discovered in theory all the non French entry falls foul of this.

Unfortunately that’s not an option either - the car was built for historic endurance rallying, and has done some of the sports classic events such as The Tulip, The Winter Trial, RAC, etc
FIA rules means the car has to be in original condition

Ah well, I guess that will change in time…
