“we are not the Italian parliament” 🙄

Not a very PC comment from Chris Bryant;

“Honestly, this was the most extraordinary scene that I’ve seen in my time, and anyway, even if it has happened in the past, that is not how we should do our business - we are not the Italian parliament - and all of this is happening because there is complete chaos in government. There isn’t a government.”

But it did remind me of a little painting I picked up in Italy some years ago;

I like the Swiss system. Referenda on everything and a civil service which just makes it happen. I don’t think the average Swiss could name a Swiss politician.

Or there’s Belgium which often can’t decide who’s running the place for up a year, but everything keeps working.

Or one of my favourites for the sport:

The British way - less manhandling and more “disciplinary action”

Correction!

There was indeed manhandling in the British seat of power

It will be interesting to see if they lose the whip before the leadership election as they would then be ineligible to vote!

Would that cause a further revolt?

Chris Bryant says at least one MP ‘physically pulled through door’

Tory whips have obviously been learning from the staff at M/c’s Chinese Consulate!
