Who will be the next new prime minister of France?

The metric unit for the length of stay in office is the Barnier (90 days).

The Imperial equivalent is the Truss (49 days).

So a Barnier is almost worth a pair of Trusses

Presumably he offered twice the support.

I’d say a brace myself, both ready for plucking ‘n’ stuffing.

Seem to remember people in the UK bracing themselves when Truss arrived (rather than relying on the State to do it for them).

Well, She was oven ready for it

We’ve seen with Marconist governments the 49.3 has been used way too much for the electorate to be democratic, Elisabeth Borne used it 19 times & now Barnier tried the same after a few weeks in office and rightly so he’s out on his ear. Now Bayrou has publicly stated he will not use it for the budget. Let’s get some democracy back into parliamentary proceedings. The average pensioner, man & woman on the N°359 bus to Reuil Malmaison, is feeling the pinch, not to mention those on RSA & very small pensions.

Made me reflect that both the French and UK governments, albeit in greatly differing circumstances, have not increased the lowest income tax threshold in line with inflation .

That’s only half of it here in France, here’s a couple of revues that may interest you & anyone else.

An interesting interview here, with Pierre de Gaulle on TVL. He is critical of Macron and the state that France is in. But also some concrete and positive suggestions. I suspect he would make a very good president . https://youtu.be/siN4-eM5GNY. It lasts about an hour in total.

Le grand Charles was Président when I was born, and Home was Prime Minister, eheu fugaces.
