Hope you had a nice day Megz. And thanks to all for cheery Christmas greetings. Only 365 days to the next one! :scream:

I had a salade piémontaise and a packet of crisps for lunch, and spent a cautious hour and a half up the ladder picking kiwis, under a blue sky.

Met a neighbour at the garden gate and chatted about nonsense until it started to get dark. He has a huge talent for doing imitations of past presidents, from CDG onwards through Pompidou, Giscard d’Estaing, Mitterand, Sarkozy, Chirac, Hollande, but can’t get his head round Macron.

Last hour it’s been Netflix and a cup of tea, but giving alcohol a miss until New Year’s Eve :coffee::+1::grinning:

Merry Christmas to everyone, and wishing you all a good year for 2019.
Thank you to all of you who have answered my questions and posted good advice on SF, and the light hearted conversations that show your support for each other.
This is our first Christmas in France, We lit the fire early, drank fizz, saw our two sets of distant neighbours, phoned family in the UK, looked at all the Christmas cards above the fireplace and felt both happy and sad, but so pleased that we have had the chance to do this.

It was a very lonely sad Christmas…probably the worst i ever had. Now i try to find a way to fly back to California but with no income…im not sure what i can do. Only 5 months left for my visa…and hubby has made it clear that supporting us is to hard for him. He spent christmas with his family.

Isn’t it a little early to decide it’s all over Meghan ?

Hi Meghan

I’m sorry that you had a lousy time but I thought that you had your children there with you ?

Things may look a bit bleak now because it’s your first Christmas here and you feel far away from what you know.
Did you suggest going as a family to visit your hubbys relatives here?

Don’t throw in the towel, it’s too soon, of course it’s difficult for you but it’s maybe difficult for your hubby too, especially if he is working and trying to support you all, maybe he needs a few hugs too !

Anyway, as you know we are all here and rooting for you, soon be a New Year and you have to help make changes too. Look around and count your blessings, you have lovely children, a wonderful chance to change things, and someone you crossed the world to be with.

Tommorow is another day…

Sending you virtual hugs and hoping that you will soon feel that here is where you belong xx
